Position Title: Communications Advisor

Position Description and Qualifications: (Two positions available)
You are a creative and effective communicator who is passionate about making a difference in your community. Put that vision to work helping United Way create pathways out of poverty for more than 120,000 people in the Alberta Capital Region.
You have solid experience developing and delivering communications strategies and tactics that grow awareness, inspire action and build successful brands.
As a communications generalist who thrives on variety, you can manage projects through all communications channels. This includes advertising mediums, digital communication platforms and approaches, social media, video production, graphic design, print production, media relations, special events management and public speaking.
Your exceptional written and verbal communications skills allow you to connect with both broad and targeted audiences in any medium, whether it’s storytelling, ad copywriting, blogging, a factual report or a corporate presentation.
While you pay exceptional attention to detail, you’re also able to see the big picture. You are a strong relationship builder who works hard to gain a deep understanding of your client’s business goals. You build trust by delivering thorough research, thoughtful planning, expert execution and considered evaluation of outcomes.
Reporting to the Director of Communications, your position works closely with a diverse team of marketing and communications professionals and collaborates daily with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your background includes a degree or diploma in communications, public relations or related discipline, plus a minimum of three years of experience in a similar position. Equivalencies will be considered. Affiliation with CPRS or IABC considered an asset.
