Position Description and Qualifications: Summary
Our team is looking for an experienced Communications Coordinator to provide thorough and enthusiastic support in the areas of Digital Media and Community Relations. You will have the opportunity to exercise ownership over a number of projects, while at the same time working in a highly team-focused environment. We are leaders in the chiropractic industry, and as such, we are looking for a person who is highly motivated, organized, responsible and creative.

Our ideal candidate will have a solid working knowledge of the current digital media landscape, as well as a passion to achieve maximum potential for community outreach initiatives.

Major Responsibilities
Digital Media

  • Plan and maintain a consistent social media presence (Facebook and Twitter) which resonates with our members and the general public
  • Manage and coordinate website content, updates and usability
  • Contribute to the development of social media guidelines and policies
  • Monitoring and analysis of digital media statistics in order to make recommendations for future efforts

Community Relations

  • Manage, execute and advance community profile initiatives to support community partners and members, as well as strengthen the ACAC brand
  • Act as a liaison between the organization, our members and the general public
  • Provide thorough evaluation of efforts for strategic planning and reporting purposes
  • Assist with ongoing support of Straighten Up Alberta, our flagship public education program

Marketing and Promotions Program (MAPP)

  • Coordinate MAPP partnership schedules, activities and deliverables
  • Analyze and report on MAPP partnerships as needed

Other Tasks

  • Writing, editing and printing coordination support for blogs, reports, newsletters, events, association materials and publications
  • Develop design projects as required (e.g. presentations and signage for projects and events, promotional materials and member support pieces)
  • Occasional evening/weekend work and/or travel required
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

  • Degree or Diploma in communications, advertising, journalism, marketing or public relations from post-secondary institution preferred; an equivalent combination of experience and/or coursework may be considered
  • At least two years of experience in a communications or public relations position
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective content across most widely utilized social media platforms
  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills
  • Writing and editing experience in CP style including writing for web, print, media and marketing collateral
  • Communications planning, implementation and program management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines without compromising quality and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory and/or association sector(s) is an asset
