Public relations and communications professionals play an important role in bringing diversity, equity and inclusion to both our organizations and our industry. On March 22-23 from 10-3 p.m. MT, the McMaster Master of Communications’ Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) Committee invites you to attend the National Summit on anti-Racism in Public Relations and Communications Management where you will receive tools you can use to help your organization begin making actionable change to better reflect the ongoing EDIB movement and the publics our organizations serve.
The event will feature candid conversations about how we got here: what the data shows; the price paid by our Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPoC) colleagues for current day success; the role of mentorship; and how we can move to where we need to be: the role of the CEO and C-suite; creating more inclusive stakeholder engagement; inspiring buy-in when there is resistance and more.
This is an important opportunity for PR and communications professionals at every experience level to come together and have real discussions about how we can advance EDIB inside and outside of our organizations. As trusted advisors, we are the change agents who can successfully take on this role to reflect and speak with the diverse stakeholders and publics we influence.
Breakout sessions, panel discussion, keynotes and workshops; this event will motivate, inspire and empower communicators to begin the necessary work of improving our industry and organizations. The time is now.
