The Division’s Communications department provides a range of services, including media relations, corporate communications, online strategy, graphic design and event planning. At your core, you’re a great communicator. Not only are you an excellent writer and champion of plain language, but your user-focused approach to communication has impact, resonates with audiences and supports business goals.
You’re as creative as you are analytical; you love writing campaign copy as much as measuring campaign performance.
You can write an insightful creative brief and know how to adapt your written voice depending on the audience.
You have experience managing engaging marketing campaigns, from concept development to execution and evaluation.
You’re no stranger to content strategy and understand how people interact with content online.
You’re familiar with web analytics and content management systems, and you understand the importance of using data to drive content decisions.
You’re an organized problem-solver who likes a challenge. You can manage multiple campaigns and competing priorities without compromising accuracy or deadlines.
You know how important it is to be a bridge-builder and cultivate great relationships with colleagues and clients.

a degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field
a minimum of five years related experience
membership in the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) or Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) will be considered an asset

The Communications Consultant will:
work within a team to manage content on the Division’s external website
provide advice on effective communication strategy, digital marketing strategies, tools and best practices
oversee communication projects from start to finish and evaluate their effectiveness
write and edit communication materials for a variety of audiences and channels
support the management of the District’s social media channels when needed, including implementing and optimizing advertising campaigns measure, analyze and report on campaign performance

Rate of pay
$2,731.40 – $3,488.80 bi-weekly
