Position Description and Qualifications:
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Senior Digital Officer plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing all of AGLC’s external web properties.
The ideal candidate for this position is organized, collaborative, a strategic planner that is conscious of scope and timelines, and highly customer focused. The Senior Digital Officer is responsible for coordinating the ongoing technical and content development, maintenance, technical and accessibility standards and evaluation of AGLC’s web properties. Additionally, this role is responsible for coordinating with internal cross functional teams and external vendors to drive digital projects to completion. This role combines project management skills with a deep understanding of web development and digital technologies.
To be successful in this position, you will have a strong technical background that can demonstrate the seamless functionality and efficiency of web infrastructure. As well, you will possess superior communications skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, and are able to use both data and intuition to make informed decisions.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Post-secondary education with course work in web development, computer programming, graphic design, or communications
Minimum four (4) years of relevant work experience of or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in front-end development, website content development and/or integration of content
Working knowledge in HTML5 and CSS3 with knowledge of JavaScript
Understanding of digital design, web usability and interaction principles. Experience with A/B testing a plus (Asset)
