CPRS Edmonton celebrated its 60th Anniversary, presented by Crestview Strategy, in style in October by gathering together for a special brunch that celebrated the chapter’s history while looking forward to the future.
About 70 attendees enjoyed a wonderful brunch at Lux Restaurant in downtown Edmonton, with opportunities before and after the official program to visit and reconnect. Joining the festivities were past long-time chapter members and volunteers, including former national presidents Derrick Pieters and Richard Truscott, as well as past chapter presidents from across Canada like Andrea Collins who travelled from Calgary for the event.
A special thank you to Dr. Terry Flynn, Graduate Director of the Master of Communications Management (MCM) program at McMaster University, who also travelled to Edmonton as our special guest speaker. Flynn spoke about the proud history of CPRS, current and future challenges facing the profession, and opportunities to continue growing as practitioners.
The laughs came hard later in the program with Rapid Fire Theatre delivering an improv show that drew members up on stage and engaged the crowd.
CPRS Edmonton expresses its deep appreciation to all the event sponsors who helped make the event possible.
This celebration was the largest event the chapter has hosted since the global pandemic and we thank all members who came out to start the programming season with a great launch. For more photos and a look back at the event, visit CPRS Edmonton on LinkedIn.
